The latest silly appologia for the Iraq crowd & Rove is already moot

This, the latest salvo from the right, mindlessly echoed by people who should know better (it's amusing how they try), attempts to pin the blame on David Corn, for referring to Plame for a covert operative, but that dog won't not only hunt, it's stuffed and gathering dust in a corner. Why?

Simply put a) even moi could have figured out Plame was a covert operative from Novak's column (then again, maybe I'm the only one who reads my blog who's ever actually had a security clearance or been directly involved with agencies where the personnel are nod identified as working for that agency), b) as already stated, the agency is pretty certain that divulging the identiy of Plame as employed by the CIA was itself tantamount to divulging classfied information, and c) read today's Times about "the memo."

Drip, drip, drip.

The idea that they'd try to pin this on Powell- or Rice- is ludicrous; this is an administration that tightly controls the information it sends in and out.
