The Supreme Court post

It is naturally quite troubling that in the present climate, with reason and tolerance in retreat, that the current occupant of the White House is going to get to nominate a replacement for the swing vote on the court.

Still, the efforts by the theocratic right at domination in society cannot but be fruitless in the long term, even though it will engender a great deal of strife and suffering.

While I hope reason and ttolerance prevail, we must also understand that every instance like this is a call for us to bring up our game as it were, to deepen practice, to be more skilllful.

Who knows? We might be surprised.
